Discover everything you need to know about visiting Six Keys, from who can attend and what to wear, to program times, costs, and nearby accommodation. Our FAQ also covers safety, bad weather plans, and how we customise each farm experience for schools and community groups.
Are you a NDIS provider?
At this stage, Six Keys Cattle Co is not a registered NDIS provider. However, there are several agriculture-based programs in the Gladstone region that may be suitable, and we’re always happy to point families in the right direction where possible.
What ages can attend Six Keys?
Six Keys welcomes all ages. While our core focus is school-based education programs, we have proudly hosted childcare groups, community organisations and Senior Week participants.
Every visit is thoughtfully designed around the needs of your group. Whether you are five or seventy-five, there is a place for you at Six Keys, and we love tailoring each day to suit.
Can the Six Keys program be customised?
Absolutely, this is one of our favourite parts of what we do.
We work closely with schools and organisations to design programs that align with your desired learning outcomes and goals. Customising each experience ensures your group gains the greatest value, engagement and enjoyment from their time on the farm.
Can my local community organisation visit Six Keys?
Yes, we would be delighted to welcome your group.
Six Keys is built on community connection, and we take pride in creating meaningful, enjoyable and memorable experiences for organisations of all kinds. We look forward to helping make your next group outing something truly special.
What should I wear for a visit to Six Keys?
We recommend dressing “sun smart” and farm-ready.
Ideally, visitors should wear:
• Long pants
• A long-sleeved shirt (with a collar if possible)
• Closed-in shoes
• A wide-brim hat
Comfortable, practical clothing ensures everyone can participate safely and confidently.
What happens in bad weather?
We closely monitor weather conditions in the lead-up to your visit.
If heavy rain or unsafe conditions are forecast, the program will be rescheduled. In the case of light rain, we can discuss options for proceeding, as we have several undercover areas that allow activities to continue comfortably and safely.
Your safety and experience are always our priority.
What risk management measures are in place?
Safety is central to everything we do at Six Keys.
We maintain a comprehensive risk management plan, with detailed risk assessments completed for all activities conducted on the property. These documents are provided to schools upon booking.
Our approach is proactive, thorough and always safety-first.
What times do the programs run?
A typical full-day program runs from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Start and finish times can be adjusted depending on travel requirements and the specific goals of your visit. We are flexible and aim to make the day work seamlessly for your group.
Is there accommodation nearby?
Yes. The nearby township of Bororen, located south of Six Keys, offers several accommodation options. To the north, Tannum Sands and Boyne Island also provide a range of places to stay.
We are happy to provide further information to assist with your planning.
What costs are involved in attending?
Six Keys programs are charged on a per-student basis, with pricing reflective of the customised, hands-on farm experience provided.
We offer discounted rates for full cohort bookings, and teachers, aides and carers attend free of charge.
